When it arrives on the market likely at the end of 2023 or in 2024 as a 2025 model, the Chrysler Airflow will be Chrysler's first electric vehicle. Designed to compete with the Tesla Model Y and Volvo XC40 Recharge, the Chrysler Airflow is expected to deliver great performance and fuel efficiency.
So far, here is what we know about Chrysler Airflow, revealed at the end of 2021.
A dual electric motor setup
A dual-motor set-up with electric motors for the front and rear will be offered on the 2025 Chrysler Airflow. Although we don't have the final horsepower numbers, we can imagine that the new Airflow will offer over 400 horsepower and will reach 100 km/h in under five seconds.
Additionally, Chrysler should offer either a front-wheel-drive or rear-wheel-drive version that is more affordable. All-wheel drive will be standard on the dual motor version.
Expect a lot of range
A 118-kWh battery pack will power the Chrysler Airflow, which will offer a range of over 500 km. Depending on the configuration of the powertrain, the Airflow will have different range numbers. According to Chrysler, the Airflow should deliver the same power and range as the high-end versions of the Tesla Model Y and Ford Mustang Mach-E.
Considering the Chrysler Airflow is a luxury electric vehicle, we can expect all the latest safety features. There will be automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning with lane keeping assist, and a range of automated driving technologies. Multiple screens will display the infotainment system, including those in the driver's seat, the passenger's seat, and even the rear seat. With over-the-air updates, the Airflow will always have the latest features.
